I am looking for the best time ( most active time of the day to trade oil futures ). I know that oil in the US is traded in NYC, and Brent is traded in London. Is there an overlap. If I am starting to trade, what time should I think about trading. |

Oil inventories are always on Wednesday so that is one thing to watch about. The best time to trade is after the New York open at 9:00 AM ET. That is when the market has best volume and volatility. The NY and London markets overlap for about 2.5 hours until 11:30 AM ET. The New York floor session closes at 2:30 PM ET which is the settlement price. London also settles at 2:30. The market dies up after that. |
